Jenson Button has been coming to Lanzarote for winter training since 2001 when he was brought to the island as part of a Benetton team trip. It has become a regular part of his training and he is often accompanied by other drivers and always by his personal trainer.
He’s a driver renowned for his dedication to fitness, who can forget him running the full length of the main straight at Monaco, and after a grueling Grand Prix, when he mistakenly parked in the pits after winning the race? He very often enters triathlon and marathon events, and alway enjoys his sport.
He always stays at Club La Santa while here, and cites the excellent food and sports facilities as the main reasons, and he really gets stick into the atmosphere while is in there, joining in as many competitions as he can. On this trip he has already covered 180km on the bike, 18km running and 7Km of swimming – all that in 3 days! He also loves the way that he can concentrate on fitness while he is at La Santa – no press, no family and no distractions!

At last the reconstruction works in Playa Flamingo beach in Playa Blanca are starting. This will take place from tomorrow 29th of October, we hope the beach will be ready for next summer and have a great holiday in one of Playa Blanca´s Resorts.

At last, is here again!! The annual Charity concert for a good purpose, the 9th of October at Plaza de las Naciones in Puerto del Carmen. This year the benefit will go to the fire brigade of Tias.
The concert will begins from 15:00pm with the performance of Naughty Boys, Skatoons, Question, The Tareaways, Rory Gallagher, Skin & Hyde, Lorraine McLauchlan and The Soul diva Project etc FREE ENTRY!!
The Voluntary Fire Association of Tias “BOLUNTIS” was formed in March 2005 as a non profit making civil association serving the borough of Tias, ( in the province of Las Palmas, The Canary Islands, Spain), with one aim - that of protecting it’s community.
Our principal activity is to prevent and extinguish fires, regardless of the danger and to save lives and property. We count on a well trained team, capable in various other disciplines including; rescuing people and animals, disposing of toxic waste or dealing with escaping gases, rescuing people from wells or high buildings, traffic accidents, demolitions and working with other emergency services, i.e. police, ambulance, public protection..
As a voluntary organization, we rely on various forms of funding, be it from local enterprises, public donations or organizing and participating in fundraising events.
We are always looking for volunteers or contributions for the association, and if you think you can help, don’t hesitate to contact us on the number below.

The Tuning Show is arriving to Lanzarote. This show will take place the Saturday 19th of September from 12:00h to 22:00h in Playa Honda ( Calle Cuaderna).
You will enjoy different exhibitions, Quads, Escalextrix...etc. Some Dj´s from the island will play their best music to make this event more exciting.
The prizes will be given to, more spectacular car, best lighting, best exhaust pipe, best bodywork, best tuning, best car boot, best wheel burnt.

Ciudad de Arrecife Marathon Lanzarote, Sunday November 29th, 2009
The annual Marathon in Lanzarote will take place in Arrecife, the capital of the island; This is the only Marathon event in the Canary Islands and it is celebrating its 20th edition in 2009, welcoming runners of all age groups from all over the world. On the course in front of the beach you will experience the charm of the city.
The Marathon will star as usually with the kids marathon the 27th of November at 9:30am following the adults at 10:00am.
Don´t miss this greatest event where thousands of participants from all the word will come to do their best race.
