Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Ryanair, the world’s favourite airline, has announced that it will open seven new summer sun routes, and
temporarily base one additional aircraft at Cork for the 3 peak months of June, July and August, to offer Cork consumers competition, choice and much lower summer sun fares than Aer Lingus.
Ryanair’s seven summer sun routes inclyuding from Cork to Lanzarote.
Ryanair’s new routes will allow many families in Munster to travel to the sun at low fares from Cork Airport and make up for much of the flights lost as a result of Budget Travel’s recent closure.
Ryanair celebrated these seven summer peak routes by slashing up to 30% off its current fares for travel in late February and March which are available for booking for 3 days only on www.ryanair.com.
Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary said:
“Ryanair’s seven summer peak routes will mean that for the first time the people of Cork can escape to the sun by availing of Ryanair’s guaranteed lowest fares, avoiding Aer Lingus’ high fares.
“To celebrate these new summer peak routes Ryanair is slashing up to 30% of all fares which are now available for travel across Europe in late February and March.  Since seats at these crazy low prices will
be snapped up quickly, we urge passengers to book them immediately on www.ryanair.com ”.

RYANAIR ANNOUNCES 39 NEW ROUTES TO/FROM CANARY ISLAND THIS WINTER

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

Aircraft switched from UK and
Ireland where passenger taxes damage tourism
Ryanair, the World’s favourite airline, announced today (29th
July 09) that it will open 39 new routes to/from the Canary Islands this winter starting in October.
This will comprise of 16 new routes to Gran Canaria, 15 to Lanzarote and 8 to Tenerife (now 16 in total) as Ryanair offers competition, choice and the lowest airfares to/from the Canary Islands.
These new routes will bring 2 million new passengers,  create 2,000 new jobs and deliver a visitor spend of over €386m for the Islands. Ryanair’s big expansion in the Canary Islands is due to “zero” tourist taxes in Spain and the 100% discount on airport charges this winter. This contrasts with the route cutbacks Ryanair has announced in the UK and Ireland where airport charges at Dublin and Stansted are increasing and the Irish and UK Governments have imposed suicidal tourist taxes of €10 and £10 respectively.
Ryanair celebrated these 39 new routes and 2 million passengers for the Canary Islands by releasing 20,000 fare free* seats for travel to/from the Canary Islands from 26th October until 19th December which are available for booking on www.ryanair.com until midnight Wednesday 5th August.
Speaking in Tenerife today, Ryanair’s Michael Cawley said:
“Ryanair is delighted to open 39 new routes to/from the Canary  Islands in October which will allow us to bring more low fares, more competition and choice to even more consumers/visitors of the Canary Islands.
“Ryanair’s 39 new routes at Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Tenerife will deliver 2million passengers and sustain at least 2,000 jobs at these three Canary Island airports. These 39 new routes are the result of the 100% discount offered by AENA on its airport charges. The continuation of these routes past the 31st March 2010 will be dependent on the extension of these vital discounts. We are confident that in the current climate of reduced traffic and tourism in Spain and the Canary Islands that the Spanish Government will see the wisdom of extending low airport costs not just in the Canary Islands but throughout Spain”. CARNIVAL 2009 PUERTO DEL CARMEN

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

carnavalGREEEEAAAATTTT Carnival is nearly here!!! I found out the dates for the Puerto del Carmen carnival 2009. This year from the 26th to the 28th of February, party, party, party!!! On the 26th it will start the whole festival, the "Murgas" those groups that normally take advantage of the funny party to criticize politicians and some decisions that they have made. Gala party of "Carnival Queen", Gala party of "Drag Queen, etc...

The best date, at least for me, is the parade, which it will be on the 28th of February. This day, you can enjoy the best parade ever seen as there will be all the "Murgas", " Comparsas", musicians, the Carnival Queen, and all the people dancing with their best fancy dresses on the middle of the street. This is surely worth to be seen.
