CHRISTMAS MARKETS

The II Christmas crafts Fair will take place in Arrecife from the 2nd to the 5th of January.

The Council of Industry, Trade, Consumption, Energy, Classified Activities and Civil Participation of Lanzarote's Chapter, which Lourdes Bernal coordinates, puts in knowledge of all the craftsmen with card in effect that on Monday, 10th of November, will open the inscription to take part of this II Christmas crafts. Those interested should pick the appropriate form at the Cabildo insular

Also in the town of Tias and Teguise will be held Chistmas markets. The Tourism Council of Tias City Council invites craftsmen that want to take part to have products for sale related to Christmas as confectionery, gifts, etc. The Tias Christmas Market 2008 will be held from the 5th to the 8th of December, in Plaza de las Naciones in Puerto del Carmen from 18 to 22 hours.The Teguise Christmas market will be from the 20th to the 23rd of December from 16 to 22 hours.

We will like to inform all artisans interested in participate may contact the Tourist Information Station on the Municipal Tourist Office of each municipality.

CARNIVAL 2009 PUERTO DEL CARMEN

GREEEEAAAATTTT Carnival is nearly here!!! I found out the dates for the Puerto del Carmen carnival 2009. This year from the 26th to the 28th of February, party, party, party!!! On the 26th it will start the whole festival, the "Murgas" those groups that normally take advantage of the funny party to criticize politicians and some decisions that they have made. Gala party of "Carnival Queen", Gala party of "Drag Queen, etc...

The best date, at least for me, is the parade, which it will be on the 28th of February. This day, you can enjoy the best parade ever seen as there will be all the "Murgas", " Comparsas", musicians, the Carnival Queen, and all the people dancing with their best fancy dresses on the middle of the street. This is surely worth to be seen.

BUS SERVICE IN PLAYA BLANCA

Yesterday, 1st of October there began to work the urban buses in Playa Blanca.The first service departs from the Bus station at 6:30 and comes to the same one at 22:00 hs.

The new internal line has 34 stops, a daily frecuency every 30 minutes for a price of 1.15 euros per person (kids up to 4 years free)

These buses will go from Pechiguera to Las Coloradas.

NIGHT LIFE

There are over a hundred restaurants with food that suits every taste and every pocked from fast food to gourmet. There are many shops, boutiques and bazaars stocked with everything from duty free, electronics, to local arts and shoes or even jewellery.

The night in Puerto del Carmen has to be lived. You will find many places to go, from pubs, karaokes, bar or discoteques with different kind of music, english, spanish, salsa, merengue, etc. In Lanzarote, we could say that, Puerto del Carmen is the town that never spleeps!!!!

PUERTO DEL CARMEN

The beaches are very long, you can appreciate how the ocean reaches every part of Puerto del Carmen. There is sun most of the time, and is the town where most of the people choose to stay in holidays. There are loads of hotels and apartments to choose from.

The beach avenue is the resort´s main road of Puerto del Carmen.

A walk along this beautifull landscape enjoying the see breeze while admiring the views in an absolute must.
