The Canaries is an archipelago located in the Atlantic Ocean and is one of the 17 autonomous communities of Spain as well as one of the best off-shore spots of Europe. As a whole, it is made up of 7 major islands: La Gomera, El Hierro, La Palma and Tenerife that comprise the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and those of Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote that belong to the province of Las Palmas. As well as these islands, there are the Chinijo Archipelago (La Graciosa, Alegranza, Roque del Este, Montaña Clara and Roque del Oeste) and Lobos Island near Fuerteventura, which also belong to the province of Las Palmas.
