The Canary Cetacean Museum invites you to discover one of the most important collections in Europe – the result of more than 20 years of research on the whales and dolphins of the Canaries.
The visitor is submerged in an ocean environment in order to learn about the characteristics and habits of these marvellous creatures through images, sounds, life size reproductions, scale models and other natural artefacts.
Specialized guides will lead the visitor through the secrets and curiosities of the life and habitat of these interesting mammals.
The Canary Cetacean Museum installations, handicapped accessible, house the office of Secac (the Society for the Study of Cetaceans in the Canary Archipelago), and provides an outdoor space, an audiovisual salon, a shop with exclusive products and four exhibition halls.
The themes of these halls include an introduction to the cetaceans, marine life, a journey through the main families that can be found in the Canaries, and ending with a space dedicated to their conservation and the study of their medium – the sea.
