When is the Iron-man?
The
Ironman triathlon takes place on the island every year
in May and consists of 3.8 Km swim, 180 Km bike and
42 Km run. It is the island’s biggest sporting
events and it attracts the world’s greatest triathlets.

Where exactly is located
Lanzarote and how big is it?
Lanzarote is the most easterly of the seven major Canary
Islands and lies in the Atlantic Ocean only some 100 km
(60 miles) from the coast of Africa and 1,000 km from
the Iberian Peninsula. It runs 60 km north to south and
only 20 km at its widest point.
What language do they speak in Lanzarote?
Lanzarote is part of Spain and therefore its
language is Spanish (the 4th most widely spoken language in the
world).

Where is the best night life?
The Spanish in general love to
party and Lanzarote is no exception! Puerto
del Carmen is the best place for late-night
bars, music and dancing. Costa Teguise has also a few
bars and discos that stay open late.
Are there any gay clubs on the island?
There are several gay clubs on
the island, mainly in Puerto del Carmen: Free,
Black & White and Boyz Central
are located in the Shopping Centre Atlantico; Music
Hall Tavern in the shopping centre La Peñita
and Lady Muck´s is situated in the old
village. If you are looking for something local, El
59 is located in Arrecife, C/ José Antonio.
Are there Internet cafes on the island?
Yes, you'll find the major resorts and Arrecife all have Internet cafes.
Electricity
Voltage is 220, using two-pin sockets. UK appliances
need an adaptor.
