Kaboti Surf

Kaboti Surf School offers courses for all levels, from beginners to improvers throughout the year. Our school is situated in Playa Blanca but we have pick up points in Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise or Arrecife.

Classes are given and/or supervised by school director Agustín Medinilla, who has a lifetime of experience in giving these courses.

All ages can participate in this sport; under 18s must fill in an authorisation form signed by their parents/tutors.

Kaboti Surf School expects that true Surfers, who have dedicated their lives to this sport, pass on the importance of the sea, ultimately, our way of life.

BASIC COURSE

• Equipment: boards, wetsuits and accessories.
• Waves: how they are made and their behaviour.
• Surf Spot: we will learn a little about how the wind behaves, waves, currents, depths, local points and attitude in water.
• Safety regulations on the beach.
• Technique: paddling, sitting on the board waiting for waves, Duck dive to pass through waves and foam and Take off technique and synchronization to paddle and stand up with the push of the foam or a wave.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

Practical test to assess personal level.

• Advanced technique: Synchronization: position on the peak and choosing the wave.
• Advanced Take Off: technique and synchronization to paddle, stand and surf the wall of a wave.
• Surfing: posture, technique of moving weight, pumping and coming out of wave.
