1845
The history of this museum began quite by chance. In the village of Tiagua, in the year 1845, some farmers, without land or resources of their own, asked if they might cultivate an area of virgin and extremely fertile ground, which belonged to the Marqués de la Quinta Roja, Francisco de Ponte y Llorena.

1947
More than a century passed and what was a small and sparsely cultivated farm, developed in the course of time, into a major agricultural concern (the biggest and best cared for on Lanzarote). More than 25 farm labourers worked there with over 20 camels used for carrying various loads and farm products.
1994
On 15 January, at 10 o’clock in the morning, the Agricultural Museum, "El Patio", opened its doors. The first visitors who arrived were a married couple from Frankfurt. For us it was an unforgettable moment. The story of the Museum had begun.
