The 9th Great Horse Racing Season 2008 is being held in Lanzarote leaving this as an ideal opportunity to appreciate all the charm that envelops this discipline. This event will be held the 23rd of November 2008 at the Hippodrome Municipal Agro-Industrial Complex in Teguise. The races will start at 12 noon.

Ciudad de Arrecife Marathon Lanzarote, November 29th, 2008

This annual Marathon in Lanzarote is becoming a tradition as this year is the 3rd time that takes place in Arrecife, the capital. In 2008 this Marathon is celebrating it´s 19th edition. The best thing is that no matter country or age you can be part of this event even kids can joy the Marathonkids which is the "marathon" for children where the youngest will have their moment of prominence in the city of ARRECIFE LANZAROTE MARATHON. The course

The course has been designed by the foremost runner from the Canary Islands, José Carlos Hernández Cabrera (Arrecife - Lanzarote).

PB 3000 m.8:10 - 5 k. 14:00 - 10 K 28:54 - 1/2 Marathon 1:05:22.Winner of the last 1/2 Marathon.

1/4 Marathon by Teams

Run the 1/4 marathon in a team and win a trophy in your team category. For more information click here!

This prestigious road racing event consists of 4 individual races:

Marathon Kids (approx. 1 K)

A race for children from 3 to 14 years old organized by the local Government. All participants will receive a T-shirt.

1/4 Marathon 10,550 K

This is a one loop race course for all categories, for both beginners and experienced runners.

1/4 Marathon Teams (4 runners x 10,550 K)

1/2 Marathon 21,100 K

This race consists of two loops and caters for all categories of runners, both slow and fast.

Marathon 42,195 K

The marathon is a great challenge for all athletes. The race attracts running enthusiasts from all over the world competing to be the first finisher of the four loops. The cut off time is 5 hours.

DIVING

Diving in Lanzarote is not only dive... it is great fun! My first time diving with Rafael from techno-diving in Matagorda was a wonderful time... great places to dive, great instructors with a BIG PATIENCE and a real good price! I managed to go to RESERVA DE LA GRACIOSA on a thursday morning with Rafa and dive close to the Coast of the Island of La Graciosa... the show was worth it, great leisure!

The best location in Lanzarote is Puerto del Carmen, this is no doubt! you will find everything on the Main Avenida, such as restaurants (go and have a great BBQ RIBS at La Rueda), cool bars and a long... very long and lovely beach! Our apartments were simple but good, Apartamentos Oasis, but with a very good offer. I stayed there in July and the price was amazing..
