What is the Lanzarote International Music Festival?
The International Music Festival of the Canary Islands is an event that reaches its 41st edition in 2025. Over the course of five weeks, this music festival offers a musical journey that spans more than a century of history, with more than a hundred works created between the 18th century and the present day.
This festival will feature a total of 61 concerts on 21 different stages throughout the eight islands that make up the Canary Islands. More than a thousand musicians from all over the world will take part, with great orchestras and artists who will give the violin the leading role on this occasion.
The International Music Festival of the Canary Islands is organised by the Government of the Canary Islands to showcase musical diversity.
Dates and programme of the International Music Festival in 2025
The 41st edition of the International Music Festival of the Canary Islands will take place between 10 January and 16 February 2025. Great orchestras such as the London Philharmonia, the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra and the Gran Canaria Philharmonic will take part, as well as artists of the stature of the pianist Grigory Sokolov and the Vienna Boys Choir.
You will also be able to enjoy the music of the Sinfonia Varsovia, the NDR Radiophilharmonie of Hannover, the Salzburg Camerata, the Munich Philharmonic and the Orchestra of the Suisse Romande, among others.
And, in a year in which the violin takes centre stage, outstanding violinists such as Pinchas Zukerman, Hilary Hahn, Midori, Leonidas Kavakos, María Dueñas and Lisa Batiashvilli are not to be missed.
The programme will begin with an ensemble of the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, which will perform in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura under the baton of Martin Froest, with a programme dedicated to Mozart and the premiere of a work by the Canarian composer Manuel Bonino.

As for the Lanzarote music festival, all eyes will be on the Teatro Víctor Fernández Gopar ‘El Salinero’, which will be the venue for one of the most eagerly awaited concerts of this year’s edition.
This is the performance of the Ensemble Nasmé, a chamber ensemble made up of five Palestinian musicians who will share the limelight with violinist Michael Barenboim, son of the prestigious pianist Daniel Barenboim. It will take place on Thursday 16 January 2025 at 20:00.
Also in Lanzarote will be the Vienna Boys Choir (13 February), Pablo Sainz-Villegas (30 January), the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra (10 January), Sarah Willis & Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Symphony Orchestra (17 January), the Gran Canaria Wind Orchestra (25 January) and the Troveros de Asieta and Alfredo de la Fé (8 February).
