What activities to do in winter in Lanzarote?
With such a pleasant climate and such an attractive tourist wealth, enjoying Lanzarote in winter is a privilege. In addition, there are fewer crowds than in the hot months, so you can take advantage of the charm of the place even more. What is there to do on the island at this time of year?
Appreciate the landscape
The diversity of the landscape in Lanzarote is one of its biggest tourist attractions and, sometimes, we forget to take some time to enjoy the wonders that nature offers us.
Winter is a good time on the island to get to know those corners full of magic such as the Mirador del Río in the Risco de Famara, from which you can see the island of La Graciosa.
One of the most impressive landscapes of the island is in Los Hervideros and you can also enjoy the Charco de los Clicos, with that impressive green lagoon, or the craters of La Geria.
Timanfaya National Park
Another obligatory stop in winter in Lanzarote is in the Timanfaya National Park, an excursion to one of the most iconic areas of the island that can be done by bus to enjoy the tour calmly.
The road is very worthwhile… and much more the views of the Mountains of Fire!
Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes
In winter in Lanzarote you can also enjoy underground excursions around the island. It is highly recommended to visit at night the Jameos del Agua, which houses an auditorium in which evenings of very interesting concerts are held.
Another hidden corner under the volcanoes of the island is the Cueva de los Verdes, considered the longest lava tunnel in the world, with 7,000 meters long. The lighting and sound make the visit even more special.
Check out the beaches
The beautiful beaches of Lanzarote are less crowded than in summer and, therefore, winter is a good time to visit all of them.
The beaches of Papagayo, Famara, Quemada or Francesa (in La Graciosa) offer the most varied landscapes. And, since the weather is so nice, you still have the opportunity to take a bath.
Hiking in the volcanoes
Finally, we propose as a plan to know Lanzarote in winter that you visit its volcanic landscape walking without haste.
Taking an excursion to El Cuervo Volcano is a highly recommended experience, but you can also get to Montaña Rajada, Montaña Colorada, Caldera Blanca, La Corona, etc. There are many to choose from!
We recommend you!
