Why should you visit the Teguise flea market?
The Teguise market is the most popular in the Canary Islands. One of the main reasons is the wide variety of products that can be purchased in it: agricultural, artisanal or artistic. There are more than 400 stalls!
Its importance is such that many companies organize tourist excursions to enjoy the popular market and then take advantage to get to know the town. Buses arrive from all over the island of Lanzarote!

What to buy at the Teguise flea market?
In the market of the Villa de Teguise you can buy practically everything:
- You can find traditional or modern arts and crafts of all kinds, ceramics, basketry, leather goods, etc.
- There are also stalls with natural and organic products typical of the area, such as cheese or wine.
- Many modest artists sell their works, some of them really curious.
- And, in addition, you can buy jewelry, costume jewelry, clothing or items made from cactus and aloe.
How do I get to the Teguise flea market?
The Teguise market fills the streets and squares of the municipality, although the epicenter is in Plaza Clavijo y Fajardo, in the center. This means that the best way to get there is by bus, as there are lines that take you from all points of the island, including tour buses organized especially for this visit.
Once you arrive in Teguise, from the bus station you will only have to take a short walk to the flea market, enjoying the charm of the town.
However, if you prefer to rent a car and go on your own, you can also do it, although following two basic recommendations:
- Go as early as possible or you’ll spend the day looking for parking.
- Do not try to enter with the car to the center of town.
What are the hours of the Teguise flea market?
Every Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., you can visit the Teguise market to buy the products that interest you most or simply to feel its atmosphere.
The visit to this two-thousand-inhabitants town is very curious any other day of the week. It gives off a very relaxed vibe, except for the hustle and bustle of Sundays, the day it hosts one of the largest markets in Europe. It’s quite inexplicable!
Where to park near the Teguise flea market?
Are you the brave one who choose to visit the Teguise flea market by car? In such a case, as we have already told you, it is best to set the alarm clock early to arrive soon. The later you arrive, the farther you will have to park.
Once in Teguise, do not try to get to the center with your vehicle! If you take a risk and are lucky, the best place is the roundabout area that is located between the streets of Garajonay and Argote de Molina. In front of Plaza Clavijo and Fajardo there are two parking areas.
If you want to play it safe, the nearest car park is the one in front of Plaza San Francisco. It is the best option.
Where to eat near the Teguise flea market?
Inside Teguise’s own flea market you will find some food stalls. Some of them, with typical Canarian dishes or sweets but, also, with fast food for all tastes.
However, if you prefer to enjoy the local cuisine slowly, once you finish the visit to the market and have taken many photos full of color and joy, you can move to one of its bars and taverns, where you can enjoy typical local products and even some local wine.
There are enough places and terraces in its pedestrian streets to taste local traditional dishes. For example, the Mirador de Los Valles restaurant, the Dolmen bar or La Cueva del Carnero.
