Caletón Blanco
In the north of the island, in the fishing village of Órzola, you can enjoy some of the best coves in Lanzarote. One of them is Caletón Blanco, a small beach of clean white sand with a natural pool of transparent waters where you can see the fish with extraordinary clarity.
It is only about 100 metres long and is surrounded by volcanic rocks, which makes the landscape even more beautiful.
As it is not located in the most touristy areas of the island, Caletón Blanco is ideal for enjoying a quiet and uncrowded environment. It is also very safe, so it is also perfect for children.
There is easy parking nearby and, very close by, you have places of interest such as the Jameos del Agua, the Cueva de los Verdes, the Mirador del Río and the César Manrique Foundation.
Playa Chica Beach
If you are staying in Puerto del Carmen but during your holiday you fancy a bit of relaxation, in the area you have one of the best coves in Lanzarote. Playa Chica is one of the best known on the island.
It belongs to the municipality of Tías and gets its name from its small size, as it is a small beach of barely 90 metres in length.
Swimming here is a pleasure due to its calm waters but, above all, it is a paradise for snorkelling and scuba diving lovers, as its seabed is a real treasure
Los Charcones
The natural pools of Los Charcones are another of Lanzarote’s best coves. If you are looking for relaxation and a slightly cooler atmosphere, this is the place for you!
They are close to Playa Blanca, but away from the big crowds, making them the ideal place to unwind.
You will find natural pools with better access than others and also of greater or lesser depth. It’s a question of taste and appetite, so try the ones you like!
The beauty of the surroundings will captivate you and, as it is usually windy, sunbathing while reading a good book in this place can be a great plan for these holidays.
Las Malvas
Las Malvas is one of the best coves in Lanzarote and also one of the least known, perfect if you are looking for peace and quiet!
This small beach – about 180 metres long – is located in Tinajo, about 10 kilometres away, and is very unique, as its sand has an enigmatic black colour due to its volcanic origin.
It is a windy area, so the swell is usually intense, but it is not difficult to take shelter because the cove has different nooks and crannies. Nevertheless, it is an uncrowded area where recreational fishing enthusiasts are the main visitors.
El Pozo
Finally, we include among the best coves in Lanzarote the one known as El Pozo, one of those that make up the popular Playa Quemada.
This cove is just over 300 metres long and 10 metres wide, and is made of black sand, which gives rise to a unique landscape that you cannot miss.
This area, in the municipality of Yaiza, is very quiet, so the cove is usually uncrowded even in high season.
It is also known as the cove of El Paso, although, paradoxically, it is a bit difficult to get there, as it is not a very accessible route.
