Description
Complete Lanzarote Tour Itinerary
Having picked you up at your hotel we hit the road to the Timanfaya National Park, an absolute must-see sight in Lanzarote.
Passing through the so called “Volcano Route” otherwise known as “Fire Mountains“, we will learn of the peculiarities of this crater-filled landscape. Their nicknames are no exaggeration, in the area of the park known as Hilario’s Islet we will see first hand a demonstration of the geothermal power of these lands: a simple but spectacular experiment in which a bucket of water is emptied into a hole in the ground (where the temperature can reach 600 degrees) and moments later emerges as a powerful jet of steam.
Having recovered your energy following free time to eat lunch, we will head north to visit two of the most famous attractions on the island. First we dive into the Cueva de los Verdes, created through the collapse of the volcanic terrain. This natural grotto houses inside it a surprising secret, which for the moment will remain as such, you’ll just have to take the trip…
Just around the corner you can find the Jameos del Agua, another space moulded by lava following the eruptions of the La Corona Volcano. These humid and dark areas, are where white crabs live, a diminutive species both albino and blind. The local artist and architect César Manrique left his imprint on this impressive natural space by designing a beautiful space with gardens, a swimming pool, auditorium and restaurant.
Having visited the Jameos we return to the hotels late in the evening
