Description
The route begins in the charming and serene village of La Santa, from where we head northeast into the wild nature. As you progress, the path takes you through volcanic terrains, surrounding you with Lanzarote’s lunar landscape, with its impressive black and red rock formations that tell the story of ancient eruptions.
You will ascend paths that border majestic cliffs, offering panoramic views of the Atlantic. The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks creates a natural symphony that accompanies your journey. Keep your eyes wide open; you might spot seabirds and lizards, endemic species of the island. The vegetation, although sparse, is unique and perfectly adapted to the harsh conditions of this semi-desert land.

I have visited Lanzarote regularly over the last few years and have taken part in many other guided tours that are available on the market. So I was thrilled to be able to do this tour, which is in an area of the island that I don’t know that well.
It’s a fantastic walk along the coast. The waves were pretty high that day, and it was incredible to experience the power of the sea from such a short (yet very safe) distance. We also climbed a small volcano, with fantastic views. We took a little break in one of the natural “caves” where we watched the waves crashing in and ate the wonderful food and wine Sandra had brought.
For me, one of the best part of the hike followed after the break, when I got to climb up a small, very steep cliff to get to the path that would take us back to La Santa :-).
The ground on the hike is very rocky, stony and sometimes slippery. Sure-footedness and good footwear are recommended, but
Sandra is an amazing hiking guide and adapts the hike to the abilities of the participants.
Walking in this incredible landscape and the proximity to the sea alone make this a stunning hike, but it was Sandra who made sure that this hike became a fantastic, unforgetable experience for me.
