Lanzarote is a place that stimulates the senses. Among the unique experiences that can be enjoyed on the island are the Jameos Nights. They are an unmissable event. Be prepared to get intoxicated by a spectacle where nature, gastronomy and music will create a memory that will stay in your mind forever.
What are the Jameos Nights and where are they celebrated?
They take place in the Jameos del Agua, an area created by César Manrique where art, culture and tourism coexist. Located inside a volcanic tunnel, it is one of Lanzarote’s most emblematic natural space.
A visit to this location, so characteristic of the island, takes place during the day, with the exception of Fridays, when it opens its doors at night, giving tourists and locals the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience.
The night visit to Jameos del Agua is a moment to enjoy art and nature together with a gastronomic and musical show, where lights and shadows are the protagonists in an unparalleled setting.
What is the schedule for the Jameos Nights?
The Jameos Nights have special visiting hours. To attend this nocturnal spectacle where nature, gastronomy and music merge to create an extraordinary experience, you will have to be there on Fridays from 7pm to midnight.
However, during the summer months, due to the greater number of visitors, their doors are also open on Wednesday evenings at the same time.
What activities are on offer during the Jameos Nights?
This night-time visit to the Jameos del Agua is a moment to enjoy from beginning to end. When the evening arrives and the sun goes down, a unique experience begins in an incomparable setting where nature and art become one.
There are several activities included in the Jameos Nights. From the moment you enter, you can go on an individual, unguided tour of the entire volcanic tunnel to contemplate the three jameos (large openings) into which the space is divided, as well as the national auditorium.
Afterwards, you have the chance to enjoy a wonderful dinner in the Restaurant of Los Jameos del Agua. This restaurant has three different menus, adapted to different tastes and budgets. You can choose from the Classic menu, Premium menu or Vegan menu. There is also a children’s menu available.
All the menus have the distinctive feature of being prepared with local and seasonal products. In addition, they are accompanied by wines from the island.
To top off this experience for the senses, at around 10pm, there is a live music concert in which the Canarian timple (stringed instrument) is the star of the show. The venue for this musical show is the arena in front of the lake. The concert usually lasts for 45 minutes.
There is ambient music during the whole experience, except when the live music concert takes place when there is a DJ on who livens things up.
What is the entrance fee for the Jameos Nights?
To access the Jameos Nights you have to buy a ticket. There are different types of admission fees depending on the type of menu chosen. The cost ranges from €55 for the Classic and Vegan menus to €65 for the Premium menu.
Is it necessary to make a reservation in advance to attend the Jameos Nights?
If you wish to attend the Jameos Nights, you will need to make a reservation in advance for any of the available time slots. At the moment, the available times to access the venue are the following: 6.30pm, 7pm, 7.30pm, 8pm, 8.30pm and 9pm.
What is the best time of the year to enjoy a Jameos Night?
Lanzarote is captivating at any time of the year. Due to the subtropical climate characteristic of the Canary Islands, temperatures are very warm every month.
Therefore, the best period to visit the island and the unforgettable spectacle of the Jameos Nights does not depend so much on the time of year, but rather on the increase in tourism. We would recommend that in order to enjoy this event more peacefully, it is best to avoid the summer months when the influx of tourists is at its highest.
