The capital offers a great gastronomic variety. No matter what your preferences are, you will surely find a restaurant that suits you, from traditional Canarian food, Spanish, modern to international cuisine.

One of the liveliest areas is El Charco de San Ginés, a perfect place for tapas or lunch with friends and to enjoy the terraces overlooking the lagoon.  Here you can taste the most typical Canarian dishes of the island, its meats, fish and above all, the famous Canarian tapas, known as Enyesques. The most popular are the “arrugadas” potatoes with mojo, fried cheese or chorizo canario, among many others.

Some of the most valued restaurants in El charco that we would like to highlight are: Tasca La Raspa, with delicious traditional food while carefully using local products; El Jolatero, a bar where you can have tapas and enjoy a fresh beer overlooking the lagoon; Malecon Restaurant, for lovers of lean burgers as well as shrimp and mushroom casseroles; Cala del Chef Luis León Restaurant, one of the best Canarian chefs with dishes featuring his personal culinary touch.

If you are looking for Canarian cuisine, but with a more innovative style and fusion cuisine, Castillo de San José Restaurant is a winning bet. Its mix of Canarian cuisine with a delicate touch of fusion makes it one of the most special in the city. Other fusion restaurants to highlight is Niño Salvaje with more alternative and modern cuisines, while preserving the Canarian roots.

As for international food, Naia Restaurant is our favorite. This restaurant is included in the Michelin Guide 2017.

In Marina Lanzarote there are several very interesting options, but they are not suitable for all budgets. This area usually has restaurants with higher prices.

Eat cheaply in Arrecife

If you are looking for something cheaper to eat, at mesón El Pueblo you can find very inexpensive menus with delicious homemade food. If you are in the mood for pizza or Italian food, Daniela Pizza Al Taglio or pizzeria Dagigi have cheap prices with good options.
