When we think of Yaiza, we also think about the Timanfaya National Park, due to how much of this area is taken up by this space. This is the first settlement that existed in the Canary Islands, and until today it still surprises visitors with its beauty, traditions, and nature.

Other tourist sites in Yaiza are Playa Blanca, La Geria, the Lago Verde, the beaches of Papagayo and Los Hervideros, the Janubio Salt Flats, the ports of Puerto Calero and Marina Rubicón, and the Ajaches Natural Monument.

The best experiences in Yaiza

There are so many great places to see in Yaiza that it is hard to choose the best.

Once the sun goes down, we recommend heading to La Geria to end the day in a unique setting among the distinctively planted vineyards. You can also go to one of the many bodegas in the area to watch the sunset with a delicious glass of local wine.

Take a look at Los Hervideros, discover the story of the Janubio Salt Flats, and finish off by eating at El Golfo for a fantastic morning. Of course, when it comes to nature, we cannot help but mention the Timanfaya National Park, a one-off experience where you’ll discover the long past of an island with magnificent volcanos. The Montañas del Fuego, the Ruta de los Volcanes, and the Hilario Islet are just a few of the other places that you have to see.
